Live-In Home Care Services

Live-in home care is beneficial for seniors because of the continuity of care. Each senior has the same caregiver seven days a week, which allows the caregiver and senior to settle into a routine. This routine is particularly important for seniors who have memory loss, Alzheimer's disease or dementia.

Usually our live-in caregivers work seven days a week, for about two to three months before taking time off. When the caregiver does need time off, we bring a qualified replacement for one week to stay with the senior so there is never a lapse in services and your loved one is always safe.

Merit Quality Care provides seniors and their families with full-time reliable support with our live-in care services for individuals seeking live-in help. Our live-in home health aides assist seniors with their daily needs, including:

  • Helping with the morning routine (bathing, dressing and grooming)
  • Ambulation and transferring assistance
  • Preparing meals and monitoring diet
  • Assistance with incontinence
  • Medication Reminders
  • Companionship

Skilled Nursing Care

While a Certified Home Health Aide can assist with personal care like bathing, dressing, and grooming—a nurse must perform skilled services such as intravenous injections, dispensing medication into weekly/monthly pillboxes, assessing overall health, or interpreting medical information.

Every new client starts with a nursing assessment that our Registered Nurse uses to create a care plan that is tailored for the individual and for our Certified Home Health Aides to follow.

Our nursing staff communicates regularly with your Certified Home Health Aide so that they adhere strictly to the care plan and meets with your extended care team of schedulers and care managers to ensure integrated weekly service provisioning.

Merit Quality Care can provide your loved one with skilled nursing services in conjunction with hourly and live-in care or as a stand-alone service.

Our Skilled Nursing Care Services Include:

  • Checking Patient Vitals
  • Reviewing Nutrition & Diet
  • Wound Care
  • Skin Care
  • Catheter Care
  • Assessing Home Safety
  • Updating Client Physicians

Alzheimer’s Care & Dementia Care

Dementia can be an extremely difficult condition to deal with, whether it comes in the form of Alzheimer’s or in a more serious behavioral manifestation. We know how important it is to have a caregiver that is experienced with these diseases.

For this reason, we proudly provide hand picked specially trained caregivers who have a natural gift of patience and are experienced in care for dementia and care for Alzheimer's disease.

Our caregivers are able to deal with the effects of these diseases which can be very difficult for a family member or an un-trained person to understand and manage. Our caregivers provide a safe environment for seniors while engaging them actively in cognitive activities as well as games meant to keep them from boredom and to improve their cognitive abilities.

Most importantly, our caregivers will treat the senior with dignity and respect, allowing him or her to maintain independence.
